looks f-ing amazing. I like the split face effect of pages 19 and 20. Considering we're dealing with a Mr. Janus I know that's not just some an interesting panel design.

My "Bum Fights" dvd didn't come in last week and I just don't have the money to throw around to set up my own hobo rabble rousing. This was the next best thing.
Beyond the rich, moody brushwork here, you've taken some familiar elements and reassembled them in a completely new and mysterious way, laying the foundation for a story unlike any I've seen before.
Multiple readings reveal the intricate layers of a well-thought-out storyline that exploits the unique language and mechanics of comics to its utmost. ULTRA-LAD presents a veritable assault of ideas. It's a story within a story (within another, probably), from the aged, "found object" motif of its presentation, to it's metaphoric commentary on the natural cycles of life and death (and the repercussions of resisting them), to the parasitic and destructive nature of obsession. Just barely out of the gate, ULTRA-LAD is already wrestling with some enormous topics, and you're juggling it all with finesse and precision.
Just what I had in mind. But I wasn't able to write it down in so propper and neatly English. Or in most other languages. In a nutshell, I would say: Klasse Sache das!!!
Cav realized what I was thinking in such an eloquent way.
As of this episode, ULTRA-Lad!, is a story about the accountability of duality and the precious diamonds of time that escape you. I snuck a version of my own war with duality and time in FEAR, MY DEAR, but you're writing and drawing the bible.
And, even if there were no words in your comic, I am floored by your art work.

Thanks, Dean. You, Act-i-vate, and all the D6 crew have inspired me in different ways. Say whatever you like about the art, any success is owed to being intimately exposed to the creation of comics at Deep Six. You all are a cut above.

Can't wait to see what's next.
