Lol, my guess is that it's her "disbelief". I like it though, it gives the reader a chance to soak in the lion head explanation.

I really like that second-to-last panel, by the way. Nice overhead view. I like the distortion--visually really fun!

Wish I could enlarge the image and see them! You really get the manga idea of little expressive characters floating around the main characters to show their emotions, and it's very entertaining--not an element in traditional American comic, but fun to see it mixed in so easily.
