I ADORE this!
I wrote a whole bunch about this period when I was at College ( much to my Tutor's bemusement ). Outcault rocks and really doesn't get his due. I've got a couple of original Buster Brown books from 1907 that I aquired some years ago ( long story ) I love them as dearly as one can love old dog-eared paper.
