Thanks Llyn, and thanks for taking the time to catch up on Part 2. It's nice to have you back.
I'm really anxious to roll out the rest of the pages of this chapter. It sort of took on a life of it's own, but I like where it went.
Following up on your methods & materials questions from a few pages ago, yes, it's a Windsor Newton Series 7 (of course!).
The best paper I've used is Strathmore bristol, two-ply, 500 series, but that's EXPENSIVE!
The difference is dramatic, but I can rarely afford it.
Most of the time I work on Strathmore bristol 300 series. Both always smooth finish.
Well, I would say no, because these aren't "fish men" who've exploded into flame (a la suicide bombers), these are "flame men" who've disguised themselves as fish.
(ha ha. I love that this comic gives me an excuse to type a sentence like that.)
They way you see them in that last panel is their natural state. All the minions of Orolus have some affinity for heat or flame, as their home is somewhere in the molten regions far below the ocean floor.
As far as what their exact purpose is ... that remains to be seen.
