Thanks, Tim, Simon and Jim!
It seems I'm still not resistant to accolades, because they makes me blush, coming from stunning artists like you , guys. I actually feel at home here on ACT-I-VATE, surrounded by comic crusaders - to publish my work here looks like a good and only choice possible. It begun as my personal grudge with publishing industry both in US and Europe, few years ago - i wanted to prove that only authors knows what to do in exploring possible ways of comic art form, not the publishers, art directors or editors.
And when they are not hanging on my back all the time with deadlines and "expert" instructions, i feel relaxed and excited at the same time. The result is here and i just hope i won't be run over by car or such, to be able to finish it the way i imagined.
The nucleus of this project is a 30 pages story by Darko Macan, written over 20 years ago, when he was a youngster, eager to come out of his father's shadow, as most of us do. He gave it to me as a gift, to do with it whatever I want. That story is an honest and powerful piece, ideal vessel for my own exorcism stunts.
We'll see where this stream is going to take me....
I'm floored by your masterful storytelling. You've managed to condense the visuals to their rudimentary moments. I feel his pain, his passion, his stubbornness, his kind spirit as though I was there. POWERFUL work. I will have no problem purchasing this when it comes out. WOW!
I hope that you will be able to publish this webcomic, it's truly amazing. I fell in love with your work when you drew Tarzan and Cable.
The big comic companies don't care about creators like writers and artists, they just use them and then spit them out. They then find other writers and artists to replace you, to tell and draw the same stories that have been told a thousand times. I hope you will be able to find a publisher that encourages creativity and new ideals, maybe Image Comics. Recently they have improved their lineup of books, and are a good fit for creator owned projects, i.e., The Walking Dead, Chew, Morning Glories, Fatale, and Saga. Finally I would like to say that I am enjoying your work on The Secret History by Archaia Press, thanks.
Thanks, for good wishes, Daniel!
My plan is first to complete first book online and then to look for publishers. So, there is plenty of time to think about best moves in today's declining comic industry. We'll see...
